CAPA College Free School

We are highly delighted to announce that the Secretary of State for Education has decided that Enhance Academy Trusts application to establish CAPA College should proceed to the next stage of the free schools process – the pre opening stage. It is intended that CAPA College, which will specialise in the Arts, wil offer in the region of 450 places to 16-19 year old students from across the Yorkshire region. It is a real honour and achievement to have been successfully accepted and it is testament to the talented, hardworking team behind the bid and the outstanding provision developed at CAPA over the past few years. Credit and our utmost appreciation also needs to be given to all parents, students, governors, Cathedral Academy and other stakeholders who have been so supportive and encouraging.
Our vision for CAPA College is to create an outstanding, nationally recognised post-16 centre of excellence in Arts Education. CAPA College will offer a range of post-16 course pathways including Musical Theatre, Contemporary Dance, Drama Stage and Screen, Production Arts and Creative Media delivered by an excellent team of Arts Professionals and Specialist Teachers in industry standard facilities. Our vision is that CAPA College’s unique, specialist provision will train, educate and inspire the next generation of Performers, Designers, Creatives, Technicians and Arts Academics and that CAPA College will become a flagship for Arts excellence in the North, adding to, and enhancing, the rich cultural sector of the Arts and Educational provision in Leeds.
